Black Blood

Big fan of Tarantino and Rodriguez films.
Kill Bill and Grindhouse blew me away
and so did the recent Machete.
Lilo was the best trick in the film
as she just played herself.
What could be better than a film
about a big angry Mexican wielding a machete?

Afghan Daddy

Give it up to the father of smooth talking, joint rolling, rap.
Kid Cudi and Wiz Khalifa take notes.

Prince of Rags

In my mind, there is no one greater than Keith Richards.
I think that is self evident in the preceding posts.
But in my mind he is also one of the greatest style icons for rock and roll.
There is something about his disheveled appearance that
draws you in.
I'm a fan of his scarves, hats and hair accessories in older age.
I especially enjoy that Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow was based off Keith's looks and attitude.
I also severely enjoy his flamboyant side in his early years
like the giant afghan coat and purple velvet pants.
But nothing is more iconic than the Keith and Anita couple
who would wear each others clothes interchangeably.

Got To Give It Up

"Got to give it up"- Marvin Gaye

Factory Girl

I'm reading Edie, American Girl right now.
So who comes to mind for style icons?
None other than Edie Sedgwick.
Was it her short cropped blonde hair and twiggy eyes?
Was it her penchant for wearing black nylons and fur coats?
Was it the long earrings, cigarettes, smoky eyes and leopard print?
I think it was her magnetic personality which translated through photos
that caught peoples attention.
She was doing something that no one else had done before.
Of course such a delicate soul would become enraptured with drugs and eventually ruin oneself.
Too bad, but she had a great burn out (minus that film Ciao! Manhattan)
