Wish You Were Here

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
And cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war,
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Comfortably Numb

"Comfortably Numb"- Pink Floyd
Slowly spiralling down a Pink Floyd tunnel. You probably won't see me for a while...
The first time I watched the Wall, my friends were on mushrooms, and I was sober. I thought the film was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. My roommate has the Wall on VHS. I might give it a play later this week.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone! This is Thyme Warp's fourth year blogging. Man, time sure flies. The holidays are over and it's time to get back to the daily grind.
My holidays involved: driving home across the prairies, a Christmas eve church service where my sister was drunk, many card games, arguments, sledding accidents and some major family bonding time. New Years was down right crazy bringing in the new year with my best friends at Broken City. The holidays went by quickly and I'm just now catching my breath.
2012 should be an awesome year, full of changes and productivity!
