Thyme Warp's Top Albums

This is a list of my top album picks of all time. All of these albums I believe can stand the test of time and I would stand behind either one of them. Every single track on these albums, are a work of art on their own and collectively they create a masterpiece.

Yes there are some odd choices for albums from certain artists like Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. I could have chosen Rumours, as most people would for Fleetwood Mac's greatest contribution to music, but that album means shit to me as an album. Of course "Dreams" and "Go your own way" can stand on their own, but I don't appreciate the ENTIRE album.

All of the albums I have chosen mean something to me, whether it is sentimental or a reflection of a certain time. They are my picks. Enjoy!

OJ and Kush

"Black and Yellow" (re-mix) feat. Snoop Dogg- Wiz Khalifa

There is something about this track that has me hooked.
Is is that Snoop is in it?
It is defiantly not because of T-pain of Juicy J.
Could it be that the chorus is fucking catchy?
Or that it is about the Steelers?
Nah, I think it is just a straight up hip hop track that can stand next to "Monster" and "6 ft 7"

Maggie May

Wake up Maggie, I think I've got something to say to you
It's late September and I really should be back at school
I know I keep you amused, but I fell I'm being used

Oh Maggie, I couldn't have tried any more
You led me away from home
Just to save you from being alone...

Heart Shaped Glasses

Lolita:
a sexually precocious young girl
[after the character in Nabokov's novel Lolita (1955)]
and Stanley Kubrick's film of the same title.

Winter Sweater

I don't know the story behind this car.
Whether a kniting club gets together or
one individual has plenty of time on their hands,
this car makes me happy.
My train goes by it every day.
In the summer it has plant pots in the trunk.

Save Me

Teaparty- "Save me"

For some unexplained reason, I have been really digging the Tea Party and other late 90's rock. In this track/video in particular you can tell the film The Doors just came out, almost as if this is homage to the film. It has Jim Morrison's shamaness along with some of Jimmy Page's bowing of a guitar and lots of owls and native art imagery. So fucking epic, I'm in love. The lead singer even has Jim's sultry voice and diction.

Americana

The above filmstrip is of photos taken
from my Viewmaster reels.
They are all vintage 70's reels and
I admire their nostalgic, gritty, beauty.
