All I Can Say...

All I can really say about this hair-style faux-pas is WOW. Lady Gaga never fails to create unique costume-y debacles. Kudos to the giant pie.

Good bye MJ

We are all saddened by the loss of Michael Jackson on June 25th 2009. He was the King of Pop but for the past 15 years led a rather questionable life. Yesterday my crazy cat lady neighbor told me that she didn't believe that MJ died of a cardiac arrest, but that he actually died from AIDS. This statement made me laugh hysterically for a few minutes, but this morning it seems to make more sense. My neighbor is crazy and has many conspiracy theories, and I'm sure that's all this one really is. However, it is questionable how MJ would wear surgical masks all the time, always protecting himself from "germs" or whatever. His health for the past 5 years has appeared to be diminishing quite rapidly; he always appears frail. My neighbor claimed that "He had gay tendencies" so I guess she is stretching to the fact that he could have contracted the virus somewhere along the way. Also it is quite suspicious that he attempted to sell off all of his assets recently (Though is is reported that he was $400 million in debt) in an auction, almost as though he knew that his health was going to fail him. I'm sure this is just a theory but sometimes it is quite enjoyable to question the "truth" behind what the media spews out.

Frolic to this: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix- oh la la

Bonjour. This is my new obsession; the band Phoenix. I first saw them on SNL and I was immediately intrigued, but once I hooked up on this album, I became fanatical. When I find  a band I like, I have the urge to tell everyone, So here is a big shout out. Phoenix- Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.
Listen to: "Lisztomania" and "Fences" or the album in complete.

The "Kindergarten Naptime of the Third Kind"

Lately I've been obsessing about something I read listed in Rolling Stone's Hot List. This is an excerpt from the write up:

"He books a 'sound bath' at the Integratron - an acoustically perfect wooden dome in California's Mojave Desert. During an hour session ($55), visitors lie on mats in the center of the room while a sound therapist plays tones on quartz-crystal bowls."

A description of what exactly a "Sound Bath" is from the Integratron's website:

"The Sound Bath is a 30-minute sonic healing session that you can experience while resting comfortably in the Integratron's highly resonant, multi-wave sound chamber. We play 9 quartz crystal singing bowls live, each one keyed to the energy centers or chakras of the body, where sound is nutrition for the nervous system. Imagine lying on comfy mats in the center of this relaxing and resonant high-energy field, while having your body bathed in exquisite sound for 30 minutes. The results are waves of peace, heightened awareness, and relaxation of the mind and body."

The more I read about this "Sound Bath", the more I am enticed to go experience it for myself. You can book a private "Sound Bath" or attend a Public one that is only $10. This sounds like a magical experience, but as we know I can't take a "Sound Bath" right now so instead I will have my own lying on a yoga mat in my room listening to "Love Like a Sunset Pt. 1" by Phoenix  and drift off the astral plane...

The Glimmer-Bot returns!

All is at buzz that Adam Lambert finally admitted that he was indeed "gay", but this is not getting me excited. What is getting me all in a "twitter" is that Adam Lambert made this admission to RollingStone Magazine and he is going to be on the cover! What a surprise! I can't wait till this arrives in my mailbox as well, but chances are I'm not going to destroy the cover, but rather laugh hysterically in a told you so manner:

"But this glamour-bot will be gracing the pages of many magazines (Maybe even RollingStone ?) for years to come. "  (A previous post)

Modesty Blaise

I was at a garage sale a couple of years ago and I came across a box of  $2.00 movies. I picked one out that said :" A spy spoof" on
the cover, and low and behold it was the 1966 film Modesty Blaise. This film is beyond kitschy; It's a real "spy spoof" thriller full of outrageous outfits, fake accents, pop art accents, and oh yes "mime abuse".

Good Bye Bill

David Carradine has passed away. Early morning June 4th, Carradine was found dead in his Bangkok hotel room.
He was best known for his roles in Kung Fu, Kill Bill Vol 1&2, and several westerns.
All I really have to say is RIP.
