Enter Zachary

I've been called a honorary gay and frankly I feel very welcome amongst the "gay" culture,
So it is not surprising that I would develop and inner gay personality.
I often feel as though I have five personalities:
1) my true self- Sarah
2) my Internet self- Thyme Warp
3) my day dream self- Harley Vandal
4) my alter underdeveloped personality- Sahara
and
4) my inner gay man- who from tonight on will be affectionately called Zachary.

Zachary has been developing in me for so long, and he comes out most weekends, especially at gay bars when they blast Britney and Robyn.
(Please keep in mind that I am a straight girl very comfortable in her self)
Beyonce has an alter personality when she goes on stage called Sascha Fierce.
Bowie has had many alter personalities.
So really is it odd for me to channel Zachary?
He shall be called Zachary from Monday to Thursday, But from Friday to Sunday he's Zack. Get that straight bitch! Zachary shall be the outlet for all my dancing and trashy business. He's been around for a while and I am so glad to finally give him finally a name.
My friend Papa Roach helped me develop his name, as her "inner gay" is called Stanley, such a prestigious name.
This is not in jest, but rather a way to vent parts of my personality society tells me I am not allowed to show.
So Zachary shall be free to dance to as much Britney and Adam Lambert as he wants...

Tinsel Times

The holiday season has commenced!
I've been feeling fairly nostalgic for Christmas this year.
It is honestly my favorite holiday of the year,
so the above photos are various vintage inspired 70's Christmas moments.
I love my grandmother's vintage ornaments, like her bubble lights
and tinsel. It makes me feel like I should curl up under a snuggie
and watch my Rudolph movies on VHS.
Cheers!

Sweet Black Angel

Down in the Hole

My source of inspiration Susanna Moss- Spanish Moss Vintage

"Will all your money
Buy you forgiveness
Keep you from sickness
Or keep you from cold?
Will all your money
Keep you from madness
Keep you from sadness

When you're down in the hole?
'Cause you'll be down in the gutter
You'll be bummin' for cigarettes
Bummin' for nylons
In the American Zone

You'll be down in the hole
Yeah, down in the hole
No escape from trouble
Nowhere to go
Down in the gutter
Beggin' for cigarettes
Beggin' forgiveness
All that you know
Down in the hole

After diggin' the trenches
Looking for cover and findin' out there ain't nowhere nowhere to go
Nowhere nowhere nowhere to go
None of your money
Will buy you forgiveness
None of your jewelry
None of your gold
Your black market cigarettes
Your American nightclubs
Ah, they've got nowhere left

Something for nothing
All of your friends gone
Something for nothing
That's all that you know

There's something down in the hole
Down down down in the hole
There's something down down down down in the hole"

Lips Love

The great bubble rolls over top of us all
A tiny man is inside
but no need to fear
because he has "the most beautiful face"

Bowies Bitch

"Life on Mars"- David Bowie
I am the biggest Bowie whore and this track is my all time fav.
The video is killer. I can't even express how much I love that aqua colored suit...
Is their life on mars?

Neverland

Empire of the Sun- "We are the People"

I discovered this band through Fashion Television. After each episode, they play a music video of a new group, and there was Empire of the Sun frolicing around in Shanghai for the track "Walking on a Dream." It was the most magical video I have ever seen. I was transfixed; colors were a plenty, visually stunning, and the music was beyond frolic worthy. I couldn't get over it so I bought the album Walking on a Dream and found this song.
This video is top notch stunningly magical.
They bring a little Neverland in Mexico meets Bowie and I can't help but love it.

Take My Hand

I knew tonight was ominous as we pre-drank to The Smiths.
That is not the best way to kick off a night out.
As Morrisey says:

"There's a club, if you'd like to go
You could meet someone who really loves you
So you go, and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home
And you cry
And you want to die "

And "I would go out tonight
But I haven't got a stitch to wear"

So I knew it was ominous. As soon as I got home I played "How Soon is Now" the most beautiful song I have heard all day. I love the Smiths so much that I wish I could say they were part of my childhood just as Britney Spears and the Moffats. Unfortunately they are not, so I continue to seek information on them. Tomorrow I will go on a quest for the album "Meat is Murder" on vinyl and attempt to find a book on the Smiths or Morrisey himself.

Doodles

Yoshimi I'm Yours

"Do You Realize"- The Flaming Lips

I fall in and out of love with the lips. When I was 17 my best friend loved the lips and he specially ordered the lips album Zairekka that comes on for discs that you play simultaneously for mind blowing experiences. This was Phase One.

Phase Two was a year and a half later. I bought the EP Flight Test and fell in love with "Do You Realize." I grooved on it for a few months and then pushed it aside.

Phase Three was most epic. A few years later I went to an outdoor music festival, and the lips were there. For the show I was up quite close to the stage, and Wayne rolled over me in his bubble. The lips shot out all of this confetti with some type of gun while "Do You Realize" was playing. The way the confetti fell through the air was enchanting. I was in love once again.

Phase Four is now; again a few years later. I began following Wayne on twitter and I have fallen in love again. His tweets are witty and psychedelic. But, by far the best part of following Wayne is his doodles. I sent him a tweet expressing my love, and he direct messaged me back saying "Thanks!" I almost exploded. What a nice guy! What epic doodles! I love the Flaming Lips!

Robots Unite

Some intense electro/clash/dubstep to melt your mind.
I actually don't know how to describe this except brain injury.
I can only imagine Dani California busting one down to this.

Up in Smoke

I bought a Black Sabbath LP for 2$. I didn't recognize any of the songs on it, so one night I decided to give it an honorary spin. It was most likely going to be warped or scratched, but to my surprise, it was in mint condition. Such an gem.
I love this track so much. The beginning loop of Ozzy coughing blows me away. Apparently, Master of Reality is the first official stoner album made, hence the "sweet leaf".
