Tiger, What's the Deal?

What is trick J.B. mini Ellen doing with the hottest ginger Tiger ever?
My guess is as good as yours...

Justin Bieber and Shaun White and the Kids Choice Awards a few nights ago.

Let's do the THYME WARP again...

Roller derby is all the craze in my house.
It all began with that Drew Barrymore epic WHIP IT, and it has now expanded into attending games, buying merch and supplies, and thinking up derby names for one self. Shame on you Ellen Page for playing a misfit girl who gets enraptured into the world of roller derby so well that it has convinced my 16 year old sister that she can do the same.

My sister has coined the derby name "Animal- Crack-her" for herself. Mine is less fierce.I suggested that my derby name be "Thyme Warp" as in connection with my blog and internet persona. At games, when the announcer introduces me to the crowd, Biker Bill the DJ would put on the song "Time Warp" from The Rock Horror Picture Show. I would skate around to it and then stop and do that dance. Yes, it sounds perfect in my mind, but my sister told me, it's not fierce enough.

My second choice would be "Malice in Wonderland" and ode to Snoop Dogg and my dear friend Alice who fell down the rabbit hole. But i'm quite positve this name is taken, so this leaves me without a fierce derby name. I'm left without an identity...

Old Friends/ Bookends

Old Friends
Old Friends
Sat on their park bench like bookends
Newspaper blowin' through the grass
Falls on the round toes
Of the high shoes
Of the old friends

Old Friends
Winter companions the old men
Lost in thier overcoats
Waiting for the sunset
The sounds of the city sifting through trees
Settle like dust
On the shoulders of the old friends

Can you imagine us years from today
Sharing a park bench quietly?
How terribly strange to be seventy...

Old Friends
Memory brushes the same years
Silently sharing the same fear

A time it was
It was a time
A time of innocence
A time of confidences

Long ago it must be
I have a photograph
Preserve your memories
They're all that's left you

It's always strange to meet up with old friends and catch up. Recounting the past 4 years is a difficult task, but it can be achieved with copious amounts of caffeine. Old friends know your past achievements, your mannerisms, your fears. They KNOW you in intimate ways that sometimes you wished they didn't. Old friends are like a tattered paperback, well read, a little worse for wear. Old friends are comfortable, but there is a reason why they are "old" friends and not "new" friends.

If I Were a 14 Year Old Girl

If I was a 14 year old girl, I would definitely be into Never Shout Never.
Christofer Drew records under the alias Never Shout Never, and sings emotionally jarring songs on his guitar. Rolling Stone calls him "Emo's Awkward Prince." I wouldn't label him emo, but I would label his music as something a 14 year old girl would listen to in her room while she draws hearts with a sharpie onto her arms.

In the Rolling Stone write up, Drew somewhat enticed me into checking out his music. The tracks "What is love?" and "On the brightside" are pretty tight.

The one thing that Drew said that got me was this:
"I like to go to Waffle House and read, drink coffee and smoke cigarettes all day." Who doesn't want to do that? It's pretty much my ultimate day except replace Waffle House with IHOP and we are in business!

When Your Conjugal Visit Goes Awry...

This came out last Thursday but...
This is what happens when your conjugal visit goes awry:
You end up wrapped in crime scene tape and forced to use beer cans as curlers.
Beyonce bails you out and you ride around in the Pussy Wagon from Kill Bill. How venomous. Just make me a sandwich.

Fear of the Big Yellow Unknown

I have severe taxi paranoia. I'm not sure where this stems from, but it is quite severe. In the past five years, I have only rode in a taxi three times:

1) Once to ride from the airport to my hotel. It was late, jet lag etc.

2) My roommate bought tickets for a movie, and we were running late, so he forced me into the cab so we could get to the theatre on time.

And 3) this past monday. My companion had blisters and couldn't walk any farther downtown to our destination. So again I was forced into the cab.

I avoid cab's at all cost. This means I will walk rediculous amounts of city blocks to get somewhere and endure horrendous public transit rides. It doesn't matter the consequence. I will not ride in a cab unless I am forced in or there is no other options and plan A to Y fails, hence plan Z, ride in taxi.

You're On Fire Tiger!

Shaun White is on the cover of Rolling Stone again!
I now remember why I have a subscription to this magazine.
I can't wait until this arrives in my mailbox!
For now, these takes from the photo shoot will suffice.
Ha, and this was on D-Listed under "Would You Hit It?"
The answer is, of course I would hit up this ginger.
Way to go Tiger! Your on the prowl now!

Guilty Pleasures

We all have guilty pleasures. Don't tell me you don't...
Most of my guilty pleasures (other than the odd Marlboro) involve music.
I'm ashamed of some of these, but I really get immense pleasure listening to all of these tracks:

- "Heart Shaped Glasses"/ Marilyn Manson. Mansons' songs never really did anything for me before. Except this one, especially accompanied with the video, and Miss Evan Rachel Wood.

- "Don't Talk to Strangers"/ Hedley.
This song is fantastic, as far as Canadian pop punk goes. I'm sure the allure will wear off, but when I first heard this track, I didn't even know it was by Hedley.

- "Whataya Want from Me?"/ Adam Lambert
I have to admit, I really dig this song. I dance to it in my room more often than I dance to Gaga, which is saying a lot. Congrats Glambert.

-"Yes"/ LMFAO
Yes, is what I exclaim when I hear this track. It's so cheesy (especially the lyrics) that it's good. LMFAO I approve, pancakes and all.

-"Rumors"/ Lindsay Lohan
Oh yes, I'm guilty on this one. I was listening to this track in my car earlier today. I've been a fan of this song since it came out. I don't think I will get sick of this anytime soon, although I don't plan to make people share in my guilt on this one.

Shhhh! Don't tell...

Basement Dwellers

I am a true basement dweller.
I have spent over half of my life dwelling in a basement. I must feel most comfortable underground.

When I go to a club, my first question is, where is the basement dance floor?
There is something about those low ceilings, horrid lighting, and sketchy people, that makes me feel at home.
Basement suites, underground clubs, and below the earth parties. Most basement's make me think of Eric Forman's basement hang out in that 70's show. A place where the unwelcome are welcomed.

Let's face it, basement's may be filled with junk, old furniture, laundry, and minimal light, but they are where the parties at!
Long live the basement dwellers!

Fifteen Minutes...

Day 18-
The Andy Warhol Museum is located in Pittsburgh, PA.
It's on my Buried Life list to visit it.
Oh and the exact quote is:
"In the future everybody will be world-famous for 15 minutes."
